Answering a hate-post keeps it visible!

topic posted Wed, April 2, 2008 - 5:02 PM by  offlinePat
Don't post an answer to a lying hateful post~ it will only keep the post alive and get more people to read it and contribute to the mess.

I agree that reporting to a moderator is a good idea, as is requesting a look at the possibility of a TOS violation, but a troublemaker will hust create another sockpuppet to spread dirt.

Ignoring the post until it moves down and dies might be a better way to deal.

In this case, ignoring the hater will also remove the donation request. The hater wins there as well.

With luck, the mod can just remove the offending louse. I'd hate for the ADA to lose out on anyone donating because some psychotic troll couldn't let their petty vengeance rest.

    Go Tour de Cure!

Yeah, I'm glad the Tour post was posted a while back; maybe folks will have read it already. Shame to see a good cause lose over an idiotic rant.

Mods have the power to remove part of a thread, don't they? I hope he checks back soon. The last problem thread was left up on this tribe a very long time... well after it was removed from several other related tribes by those mods.

At least by now, most everyone knows not to take this childish attack seriously. That's something, I guess.

    Thank you PAT >>>>>

I agree STOP posting to it ..... it does keep it visible and THIS tribes moderator is VERY slow at responding to inappropriate material. If this stops, I am asking Jeffery to repost a short reminder regarding the ADA. I hope he is not discouraged by the banter of those who are useless (((aka Angel)))

As a moderator I deleted only the offending posted response, not the thread. I also found and deleted the user member of my tribe, then go online to tou and was informed that further accurances should be addressed to abuse@tribe.net .....

I will be watching for any furhter occurances.
